The Rock Featured CD
It's our job to listen to hours and hours of Rock music so you only get
the best. It's hell - but here's what we think of what's out there at
the moment - the good, the bad and the ugly...it also gives Riccardo an
excuse to look busy.
Savant - nothingsacred
SAVANT - nothingsacred
Savant are a rare beast, a New Zealand band that is unashamedly
all about big fuck off guitar riffs, stadium style production
and a monumental get up and throw your hands in the rock wall of sound.
Credit where credit is due, Chris van de Geer has done a superb job
producing this, it is the closest thing to the Disturbed or Godsmack
style album ever to come out of New Zealand.
Savant themselves have given their producer some of the biggest,
ballsyest, hard rock tracks with which to work. From the opening
"Out of Place" through the anthemic "Skin" and finally the instantly
memorable "Solitary" the boys never let the listener rest. Savant's
debut effort is superb, in your face guitar driven phat rock anthems.
As I mentioned earlier it's rare to see this style of rock from a kiwi
band and that's a shame because Savant have proved with "nothingsacred"
that they can write, play and produce an album as good as anything our
American friends can throw at us and what's more they sound like they
enjoy
doing it and don't care who knows.
Put this CD in your car and go on a long drive.
